Investment Department- Miami Green Guard

This portfolio will implement a zero-cost strategy by shorting a long portfolio of low ESG rating, high-performing stocks and longing a short portfolio of high-ESG rating, low-performing stocks. The portfolio will be benchmarked against the Direxion MSCI USA Universal Movers versus Laggards ETF. The Direxion MSCI USA Universal Movers versus Laggards ETF offers long exposure to companies with high environmental, social, and governance (ESG) ratings based on MSCI’s criteria while shorting companies with low ESG scores. Although, the strategy differs from the portfolio’s investment strategy the approaches both pit the top ESG securities against the lowest-rated ESG securities which could provide proof of the benefits of the ESG strategies.

Research Department - E.S.G Industry Analysis Project

We will produce a detailed E.S.G Industry Report by identifying the E.S.G industry and providing a brief overview, summarizing the nature of the E.S.G industry in the United States, providing a forecast for the industry, identifying the government regulations that affect the E.S.G industry, explaining the positions of leading companies within the E.S.G industry, and listing potential limitations and risks of the E.S.G industry. The project will be directed under the “Waterfall” approach, which means we will focus more on the beginning of the projects by planning and brainstorming and then implementing all the plans step by step.
